This mural was designed by Quinten Stevenson in September of this school year (2021). He had just started at Banting and was feeling quite inspired by the creative freedom he was allowed in art class. He came up with this design and it illustrates how Banting feels like breaking out of the confines he felt in a composite school and that the alternate education model worked for him.
He felt able to have a voice, express himself creatively and felt part of the school community. He shared his idea in each class, and students responded positively to
his idea and initial drawing.He worked along with some of his classmates to paint this mural, it was an excellent learning experience, a collaborative effort and an impressive result. We are happy to have this mural greet everyone that walks in the building. It provides a positive and welcoming vibe.
