Wellness Day - Wednesday, February 26th, 2025

We are looking forward to hosting Banting’s 6th Annual Wellness Day! Wellness Day includes hot breakfast, a therapy dog visit, information and workshops for students, as well as an evening keynote for parents.
Community organizations including Operation Come Home, Youth Ottawa, Volunteer Ottawa and more will be set up in the gym to speak with students. There are prizes to be won by students who visit all resources!
Students will be offered a balance of hands-on, active, and educational workshops that all centre around the topic of wellness. Each student will have the opportunity to try two different workshops.
Evening for Parents
Parents or guardians of Banting students are invited to come to the school for a keynote presentation by Dr Kim Hellemans, titled “Building Academic Resilience to Support Student Mental Health.” The keynote presentation will begin at 7:00, and parents/guardians are welcome to come at 6:45 for coffee and light refreshments. PLEO (Parents’ Lifeline of Eastern Ontario) and our school social worker Matt Manion will be present to participate in a panel discussion about support and resources at Banting and in the community.
